Jogan Beach with Waterfall, Tepus, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta # Special Region of Yogyakarta – Indonesia

From Jomblang Cave, we continue our journey to Jogan Beach, which located near Siung Beach and Wedi Ombo Beach. It’s so far. Just go to the Siung Beach direction, then after pass the Siung Beach entrance (IDR 3.000/pax), you will see a sign to Jogan. Turn left and follow the road. They renovated the road, so we have to drove slowly. We could see the karst hill on the way to the beach. The car parking cost IDR 5.000/car.

The beach itself, still not fully opened for tourists, the facility is minimum, but many people come there just to enjoy the scene. We can’t swim in there. The waterfall fall directly to the sea, and this is what made Jogan Beach special and many people come to here.

The sea is on tide position. The staff there said, that in the evening, the sea will be on subside position so we could go down.

Sri Gethuk Waterfall, Bleberan Village, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta # Special Region of Yogyakarta – Indonesia

Another trip to survey place for pre-wedding photos. Departure from 08:00 in the morning, then breakfast at Babi Guling Bima Kroda, after that we go to Playen which before we arrive to Wonosari, turn left. Our first destination is Air Terjun Sri Gethuk or Sri Gethuk Waterfall.

It’s a long way to go there. We entering Bleberan Village which cost IDR 2.000/pax. Then just follow the instruction to go to the waterfall.

Arrive at the entrance, we still need to ride car to the parking lot. It tooks almost 20 minutes from the entrance. Car parking fee is IDR 5.000/car.

Then we still need to walk to the waterfall area. In the middle of the path, there’s tree-section. If you want to ride boat, then turn left, but if you just want to enjoy the waterfall, turn right. When we came, the river is overflow, so the boat didn’t operated. Becareful, because of the overflow, the path is slippery.

It’s really crowded maybe because it’s Sunday. Too many people in there, I even can’t see the waterfall.

Goa Cemara Beach, Yogyakarta # Special Region of Yogyakarta – Indonesia

Sunday, me and my brother and his girlfriend, go to location survey. This time, our destination is Goa Cemara Beach, near Depok / Parangtritis / Samas / Kuwaru Beach, Yogyakarta.

We eat lunch at Babi Guling Bima Kroda. Then, continue the journey to the beach. It took less then 1 hour from Yogyakarta.

The beach is nice, clean, and alreay well-known of tourists. Not much to do in there because we can’t swim. But for couple, this is the good place to dating.

Pay for the entrance, Rp 2.750/person. This is only entrance to entering beach area. If you bring car, there’s a car park fee for Rp 10.000.

After we park our car, we can see the tree view.

Don’t forget to take some picture in here. After that, you can walk along the beach. The beach is common, nothing special in here. For me, the trees is the speciality from this beach.

Not far from the beach, there’s a light house. You can walk to there but it’s quiet far, maybe 1km more. So we decided to rode car to go there. So after satisfied play in the beach and took some picture, we back to the car park.

We almost spend 1.5 hours to get out from the arrival. By the time we come out, it’s already 21:45 local time. I bought ramen at Ramen Ten restaurant for supper at Hotel. Then we wait for the hotel airport pick-up at 22:00 in frong of Old Town White Coffe (just right outside of the arrival gate).

De Mata Trick Eye Museum at XT Square Yogyakarta # Special Region of Yogyakarta – Indonesia

After eating lunch at Indische Koffie, we went to De Mata Trick Eye Museum at XT Square. XT Square located at Jl Veteran RT 016/05.

You can see 3D painting in here and take picture, looks like you are inside the picture. But becareful with you angle and lighting.

The staff will guide you with every picture, but I think it’s better if you take the picture using your own skill. Because not every picture which the staff take is good.

This is one of the picture. Most the picture that we take there’s us inside, so I’m afraid, my friends will scold me if I put the picture in here. Let me ask for permissions first.. 🙂

Taman Sari Water Castle Yogyakarta # Special Region of Yogyakarta – Indonesia

Taman Sari Water Castle is a site of a former royal garden of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta. It is located about 2 km south within the grounds of the Kraton Yogyakarta. Built in mid 18th century, the Taman Sari had multiple functions, such as a resting area, a workshop, a meditation area, a defense area, and a hiding place.

Taman Sari consisted of four distinct areas:
– a large artificial lake with islands and pavilions located in the west,
– a bathing complex in the centre,
– a complex of pavilions and pools in the south,
– a smaller lake in the east.
Today only the central bathing complex is well preserved, while the other areas have been largely occupied by the Kampung Taman settlement.

Yogyakarta Palace Complex including Taman Sari Watercastle has been listed to World Heritage Site since 1995.

This is my first time went to this place, even I have been stayed in Yogyakarta for 5 years. This place is amazing, I have never thought that there’s this kind of place in Indonesia. It’s a pity that when we arrived there, it’s raining. So, we can’t explore too much because of rain. And also, it’s hard to take picture while raining. But I took some.

I visit the Bathing Complex and Gumuling Well (Sumur gumuling).

The Bathing Complex is currently the most popular tourist attraction.

Gumuling Well was another one-storeyed circular structure that forms another artificial island. When we went there, we have to passed the underground tunnel. Gumuling Well was used as a Mosque. It is located in the west side.
